Promoting Social Justice, Democracy and
International Dialogue |
|
|
The
Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung (FES)
has been engaged in
Sudan
since 1975. It pursues the promotion of
peace, democracy and human rights, just
socio-economic development and a more
sustainable use of the environment in
the Sudan.
FES Sudan strives to enable
disadvantaged societal groups to
articulate their interests and by
strengthening their capacities to
participate in public life. Fostering
gender equality is of particular
significance in this process. We support
activities of Sudanese partners of all
regional, cultural and social origins,
and cooperate with governmental
institutions, universities, trade
unions, and civil society organizations. |

Founded in
1925 as Germany’s first political
foundation, the
Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung
is a private non-profit organisation
committed to the ideas and basic values
of social democracy. It bears the name of the first
democratically elected president,
Friedrich Ebert,
preserving his legacy: the promotion of
freedom, solidarity and social justice
through the political process. FES
undertakes to carry out this mission in
Germany and abroad, through its programs
promoting political education,
international cooperation, study and
research. |

|
The Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung, with

regards it as its task to help : |
|
|
- |
Safeguard democratic structures
by involving as many social
groups as possible. |
|
- |
Promote economic reform and a
policy of social justice. |
|
- |
Formulate common basic values to
guide socio-political
development. |
|
|
|
Our
challenge as we see it is to adapt the
focus and instruments of our work
continuously in response to social
developments. |
